Locations for
Marriage Rallies on Day of Decision
As early as next week, New York's
highest court could hand down its final decision on whether our
constitution allows equal access to marriage for our families.
After the court heard oral arguments
on May 31, we told you that we would need you to turn out for rallies on
the day the decision is announced-- whether the decision is a victory, a
loss, or something in between. We now have locations for these
rallies.
Be sure to come out to the one nearest
you.
Remember, our political leaders in Albany have said all along
that they want to wait and see how the court rules before deciding whether
the legislature needs to act. Their time of waiting is almost over. On the
day the high court issues its decision, we must all come out and rally to
send a strong message to our elected officials that we intend to keep this
issue front and center until we have equal access to marriage.
On that day, you'll get a call or
email and you'll need to drop whatever you have planned and go to the
rally. If you have a dentist appointment, reschedule. If you have family
in town, bring them along. Whatever it is… WE NEED YOU TO BE
THERE.
The only exception to rallying on
the day of decision is Monday, July 3. If the decision comes down on that
day, rallies will take place on Wednesday, July 5 to ensure that we have
strong participation.
