Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender members of Episcopal Churches and
all Episcopalians who want to show support for their family members and
friends in the gay community are invited to take part in the activities of
the Pride Parade in Rochester on Saturday, July 8. Anyone who is interested
can meet us at Diocesan House at 3:30 p.m. to proceed to the parade line-up
at 4 p.m. in the Park Ave. Area. Please call the Rev. J. Brad Benson at
607.329.9802 no later than Friday, July 7th if you would like to meet us at
Diocesan House. The Parade will end at the Village Gate. At 4 p.m. we will
gather for an outdoor Eucharist with our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Jack McKelvey,
as celebrant, and The Rev. J. Brad Benson, as preacher. Our Diocese will
have a decorated car in the parade. People are welcome to walk along side
the car when the parade begins at 5 p.m. T-shirts to wear in the parade
will be available at the site. T- shirts are available for purchase at a
modest price. Watch for more details about our line up location as they
become available to us.
