Subject: new project at D-I seeks collaborators
Dear friends,
As we're all too aware, various state
legislatures, bishop's conferences and dioceses are seeking to prohibit
adoptions by same-sex couples and/or single LGBTI individuals because our
relationships supposedly “do violence to children” and undermine the
institutions of marriage and family.
In response to such misconceptions, Dignity-Integrity/Rochester is proud to
initiate OUR FAMILIES PORTRAIT PROJECT © to help tell our side of the
story. While there are great photo albums out there
breaking through family stereotypes, this one is sure to resonate with
everyone: “refrigerator art”
created by children of same-sex parents portraying their families! Come brain-storm with Chaplain Michael
Nicosia about this collection on September 10 at 5 p.m. as a part of our
on-going 2nd Sunday Presentation Series
at St. Luke and St. Simon Cyrene Episcopal Church,
17
South Fitzhugh Street in downtown Rochester.
